The SWEAP Field Instrument was developed to assess student practice of the CSWE competencies in their field experience. The SWEAP Field Instrument consists of a series of items, related to each EPAS Competency, scored on a 5-point Likert-type scale by their field supervisor.
In addition to the quantitative portion of the SWEAP Field Instrument, a qualitative text space is available to make notes about student progress. SWEAP Field Instrument reports provide aggregated measures across at least one dimension for each competency, allowing for seamless integration of data into CSWE AS4 reporting forms. Individual student information is also included on SWEAP Field Instrument Reports. Field supervisors and program staff will be able to access a final version of the completed evaluation when the form is submitted. SWEAP allows for direct integration with Exxat and Sonia field management systems to make distribution, collection and reporting of field instruments smoother and less time-consuming
